In Between Trips

We spent our first weekend of competition in Lynchburg, VA by taking on two very strong ODAC opponents Roanoke and Lynchburg.  While we dropped the first game, a back-and-forth 2-1 loss, we picked up an overtime (2-1) win over Lynchburg in balmy conditions.

However, as much weight as these games carry, the things we took away from the 9 hr drive (both ways) will remain with us for a long time.  For example....Modern Family Season 1 is the perfect DVD for any team's viewing enjoyment.  Everyone can identify with a character or two from the show and the running commentary about the smallest things in life is completely accurate.  Furthermore, we got a chance to know the newbies on the team a bit better. Bailey Kimbell is one of the most unique characters on the team....she doesn't come from the same mold as everyone else, and that is what makes her spectacular.  Our freshmen spent much of the time with their noses forged in the pages of their textbooks...time management as a student-athlete is paramount! (Especially if we're trying to maintain our 3.4 team GPA!)

This trip definitely served a great purpose.  It was a strong indicator about our team's ability very early in the season, and it also helped unify a group of 24 individuals trying to find their identity as a TEAM!

We will hit the pavement again as we travel to Hanover, Indiana tomorrow for two games against Thomas More and Hanover!  We hope anyone reading this close to Hanover will contemplate coming out and supporting our team.

GO PANTHERS!
